Hamburger Soup

Hamburger Soup

1 pound lean ground beef or plant base beef or hamburger
1/2 cup onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
4 cups beef broth (1 litre) or vegetable broth
1 x 28 oz tin stewed Tomatoes
1 x 10 oz tin tomato sauce
3 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon brown or white sugar
1 teaspoon dried basil or Italian seasoning
3 cups cooked elbow macaroni.   (1 cup dried)
salt and pepper to taste

Step 1: Cook macaroni in a pot of heavily salted water, drain, run under cold water to stop cooking and set aside.

Step 2: In a large sauce pan or soup pot, brown ground beef, onion and garlic until ground beef is no longer pink. Season with salt and pepper while browning and drain any excess grease.

Step 3: Add broth, stewed and strained tomatoes, Worcestershire, brown sugar, basil. 

Step 4: Bring to slight boil over medium high heat, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. 

Step 5: Add cooked macaroni and heat through and serve!
