We’re seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Art Journaling Facilitators! Access Youth is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young people through creative expression and connection. Our Art Journaling program specifically helps at-risk youth (ages 12-18) tap into their inner strengths, build resilience, and find healthy ways to cope with challenges.

As part of an after-school program, this is a flexible, part-time casual position (up to 12 hours per week) usually around 3pm. Each session/day is about 3 hours. From $19 per hour and up, depending on experience.

This is an in-person, and on-site position requiring travel and flexibility. You’ll need to be available to work after-school hours during the school year, and potentially some days during spring break and summer months. Attendance at the office may be required from time to time, and you may need to work occasional hours outside of the typical schedule for meetings and events.

What You’ll Do:

  • Facilitate engaging art journaling sessions that encourage self-expression and emotional processing.
  • Collaborate with youth to design and implement activities that reflect their interests.
  • Build strong relationships and create a safe and inclusive space for youth to share their experiences.
  • Provide mentorship, support, and referrals to community resources.
  • Provide sexual health and substance use education
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth program delivery and maintain accurate data.

What You’ll bring:

  • Passion for working with at-risk youth (ages 12-18) from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience working with youth in various settings.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and de-escalation skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.

Desired Knowledge, Education and Experience:

  • Diploma/BA or related experience in working with youth.
  • Sound knowledge of adolescent development.
  • Ability to engage and motivate hard-to-reach youth.
  • Strong conflict resolution, mediation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Current Criminal Record Check.
